Health, Wellness & Prayer

I took them up in my arms; but they did not know that I healed them. - Hosea 11:3

Jesus taught His disciples to pray during quietness or the rushing winds of a storm. He prayed to be in communication with the Father, He prayed for people, and ultimately became the perfect intercessory between God and humanity. Jesus not only prayed, but He also cared for people. He had compassion for others and made caring a priority at every turn. As disciples of Jesus Christ, we are all called to prayer and care. These practices of a disciple are essential to nurture our spiritual growth and nurture those in need.

PRAYER & CARE

Areas of prayer and care include many wonderful opportunities to connect to John Wesley, other disciples, and God.
MIDWEEK MEDITATION ( LECTIO DIVINA)
Gather in person in the JW Prayer Chapel at noon every Wednesday for a half-hour of meditative prayer on the Word and communion. Lectio Divina is also live streamed on the JW facebook page.

GRIEF SHARE
It hurts to lose someone. GriefShare is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experiences. Check the events page for periodic Grief Share sessions.

STEPHEN MINISTRY
Stephen Ministry equips lay people to provide confidential, one-on-one Christian care to individuals in our congregation and community who are experiencing crisis or difficulty. Stephen Ministers receive 50 hours of structured training before being commissioned. Confidentiality is of high priority so that care receivers do not have to worry that their problems will become public within or outside of the church. Stephen Leaders and Stephen Ministers can be identified by their blue name tags, and can answer any questions you might have about this ministry.

FUNERALS
The death of a loved one is a very substantial loss. We want to make this painful transition time of sorrow and grief less lonely and overwhelming by assisting in funeral services for our members and their families. We are available to answer questions about death and life after death. We also offer support and help to families and individuals during this very difficult and sorrowful time. Please contact one of our pastors if you are in need.

PRAYER PARTNERS
Prayer Partners are available to pray with you in the Prayer Chapel after worship services.
